WVTC Radio Detroit
WHO WE ARE
WVTC Detroit was established in October 2018 with a goal of providing music lovers with an alternative to the typical hits of our times. At WVTC Detroit, we enjoy creating and offering a broad range of carefully selected programming that makes us the best and most diverse internet radio station in Detroit!
WVTC Radio Detroit is an internet gospel radio station owned by WVTC Detroit, LLC. Based In Southfield, MI and sanctioned by WVTC Radio Network (Chicago), we officially launched October 20, 2018, with a grand opening broadcast that garnered over three thousand views at the close. The purpose of our internet radio station is to:
-
spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in song and word,
-
lift the spirits and the consciousness of the listeners,
-
foster a network of informed listeners that become and/or remain, active in their communities
-
give back to the community by providing internships, workshops, and opportunities for those interested in the AV arts, and
-
be financially present through individual scholarships as well as community giveaways.
Our first studio was in the Metropolitan Building at 16000 W. 9 Mile Road in Southfield, MI., and our very first day of scheduled broadcasts was Monday, October 22, 2018. Our lineup has included: Money Monday with Aaron Saunders of Key Financial, The Community Bell with the Honorable Edna Bell; Chat with Your Favorite Church Girls Sande & Juliette; Ministering Moments with Bishop Eric Mitchell, The Sande Rose Show, IAC Ministry Fellowship, and The Ron Todd Show.
WVTC Detroit is an iNetworks Communication station and we broadcast over that network 24/7. Our live shows are simulcasted on Facebook (WVTC Detroit); YouTube (WVTC Detroit); our website (wvtcdetroit.com) and; Twitter (WVTCDetroit). We also post daily to Instagram. No matter which stream you choose, you can join the conversation live!
Like many customer-facing businesses, the 2020 pandemic caused us to close our storefront, and we held our last show there March 22, 2020. As we experienced the uncertainty of the pandemic, we wondered how we could still reach the people. By May 2020 the Lord had given us an answer and we returned live shows to the airway remotely. This concept has been a boon as our guests are no longer limited by geography and can appear from anywhere!
In 2022, WVTC Radio Network was officially nominated for Internet Station of the Year by both the Stellar Awards and the Texas Gospel Music Award. On July 15, 2022, in Atlanta, GA, we received the honor and distinction of being named the “Internet Radio Station of The Year” by the Stellar Awards! We are waiting to hear from the TGMA’s. Lastly, in October we will dedicate and begin broadcasting from our new studio on Franklin Road in Southfield, MI.
